Summon can be used to search for library materials of all types (articles, books, images, etc.), in all formats (print and electronic), and across all disciplines.
Summon can be a good place to start your search. Use Summon to test out some keywords, to experiment with the "limiters" available on the left-hand side, and to find a few sources that you can read or skim in order to better understand your topic.
You may find, after doing some initial searching, that you need to adjust your topic. If you are finding too much information, you may need to focus your topic. If you aren't finding enough information, you may need to broaden your topic (or some up with some additional keywords).
You might also find, after doing some initial searching, that you want to go in a completely different direction with your research. That's okay (as long as you start your research early)!
Take your research topic for a test drive, and to see what you can find.
